I've only heard some vague things about Judas but yeah I assumed this was likely him. I can't see what anyone else would gain from it, it's not like the businesses want this getting out.

People, in general, really hate feeling like they've been deceived. Even lies of omission. But also, I'm new and I can see why you did, there was a literal war fought you were a part of, why would you trust some random aliens who show up here with your true identity? One of them could have decided to sell you out, logic dictates waiting to see if they're good people before showing trust like that.

But yeah, still, we're all being fucked over a lot in this situation, trust isn't easy to come by on this end either, deception wouldn't feel great.

You're still some of the only people who know the truth. All of you and Gaby, anyway. The people of this world are not accepting of AI for obvious reasons, so most of Morningstar still doesn't know.

Let's be real here, if it wasn't for you and Morningstar we all would've been fucked. Probably lab rats, if the wrong people got their hands on us, trying to figure out what we're made of or how we got here. Thanks for that, I've already thanked Gaby.

What should I know about your AI counterparts? If Judas is behind this, trying to get a read on it. Did he pick Judas as the name? Because that's like ... a real weird choice.

I had my reasons. I felt as if I'd betrayed humankind. I think the others just followed suit because they weren't particularly creative.

No. It's a little more complicated than that.

Feelings often are. Do you feel eternally connected to them? Like you all have been through so much together even if it's pitted you against each other, and regardless of that there's only three of you left that really get it and that's a hard thing to reconcile with being on opposite sides.

No, that's about right. Both Cassius and Judas have their share of issues that don't make them behave in any logical way. Which makes me wonder if they're beyond saving. At the same time, the idea of simply putting them down doesn't sit well with me.

I understand at least partly why Judas is pissed off, but what is Cassius' deal? I mean, if there is any chance that your fellow AI can be "saved" then I think it's worth trying out, but it's hard to do that when you don't know what's motivating them to act.

I'm not sure. Something in him has changed, and it's made him behave in ways that make little sense considering his original programming.

Sorry I mean to say that could he have BEEN re-programmed and that's why he's acting weird.

Once an AI takes on a mind of their own, it's not as simple as reaching in and rearranging their code. In other words, I think there's more to it than that. I just don't know what the "more" is.

Yes, it's possible. The question is how and why.

Why ... I think I can guess, or at least speculate? He's useful. Skilled, brilliant, can get places humans can't, it's not that dissimilar from people who hire mercenaries or, perhaps in this case, closer to blackmail than payment if you think he's not all-in by choice potentially. Maybe someone else wanted Judas.

Yes, you're probably right. Now more than ever, most people view us as things to be used for their purposes.
