I don't know what you did in the war. I don't know if anything they say about you is true. I do know you've helped millions of people through Morningstar over the years, and I know we wouldn't have lives here if it weren't for you.

You told connor your duty was to protect this world. So is mine. I swore an oath to protect the realms of people. All realms, all people. I mean to carry it out.

Back home I fought a war between two groups of people who wanted the same thing. I'm not proud of what I had to, and I did everything I could to make up for it. I don't know if that's what you're doing here. But if it is, I want you to know that I understand--that someone does.

I mean to learn what I can from Cassius. I've been trying to join up with him as best as I can. I said I'd look for the other AI, or whatever else he wants. But I want you to know I won't do anything you don't want me to do. And I can tell you whatever it is I learn.

I know a lot of you have volunteered to help Cassius, but I'm still not convinced that's a good idea. I would prefer you leave him to me for now.

You probably saw that some of us got their hands on classified documents from the UN and their Army. We were hoping to compile them in a secure document. We were also hoping to get some of them out where people can see and form their own opinions--without our names attached--or yours. If there's anything you could do about that, it would be much appreciated.

The bikes we took--is there any way their previous owners could track them down? I know most of us tried to take them from those who could afford replacements, and we're much more efficient with our relief efforts when we're mounted.

Documents? You mean the information that Cassius decided to spread around?

Yes, they're going to be able to track down the bikes. I would return them to where they came from to avoid getting yourselves into further trouble. I know that it would be useful if you could keep them, but I think right now we need to try and give things back to the city, rather than taking them away.

I don't remember where I got the bikes from. I just remember it was outside the Pulsar building.

It was really more of a snippet from a single document, but close enough.

Have I mentioned how weird it is that some of you are from worlds where there's barely any technology?

Anyway, keeping the bikes is a bad idea right now. Morningstar and the Displaced are in enough hot water as it is.

Is there anything you or Morningstar could do to get the information where everyone could see it?

If they couldn't find the bikes they couldn't track them to us. Either way I don't know how to put ours back.

Probably it's knowing that nothing near to what I am could exist where you come from. A strange thought.

I'll look into options to spread the information, but I wonder if it's going to be obvious it's come from us, even if I cover my tracks.

And okay, let me explain this. Those bikes are loaded up with information that will allow them to be tracked now that systems are back online. They're going to get found sooner rather than later, so it's probably better to ditch them so the theft isn't linked back to you and your buddies.

It was't just the ALIGN memo. There were a lot of different messages from the governor and the people hoping to be the next one. Something from one corporation or the other about predicting buying patterns, or getting people to keep shopping--I couldn't make it all out. It doesn't all sound like what we'd make up, but it's all worth knowing. If we get it all out at the same time, maybe they won't think to connect it back to us. Do we have any contacts in the news?

The media is heavily controlled, and also very anti-Morningstar right now. I can look into other ways to disseminate the information, though.

As for the bikes, I might be able to, but I also don't want Morningstar taking more heat by being found out for stealing and looting when the city is in need.

I understand. Anything you could do with the information would be appreciated. People might not be willing to think the best of Morningstar, but perhaps we can lead them to think worse of the UNA.

[the corporations should be easier targets. but if people doubt the word of the government, then they might not believe what they've been saying about morningstar. in theory. he's not sure the boltons being awful in public has really swayed that many of the northern houses against them yet.]

Yeah. I actually think improving people's opinion of Morningstar is the easier thing to do here. The UNA is pretty well respected.

But I'll see what I can do.
